Burundi is a beautiful country!

Looking over Bujumbura across Lake Tanganyika into the DR Congo.
 THIS IS GOD'S COUNTRY, TOO!!

Taking the time to look around at this beautiful country is awe inspiring!
Just think of yourself here and you might have some beautiful dreams about existence here!

Picture refreshing breezes and  imagine exotic sounding birds, most of which we have not had the opportunity to actually see, just hear! They offer amazing sounds, in deed!

There are definite difficulties too, like many biting insects, high humidity and heat most of the year.  There are also power and water outages on a regular basis. But let's overlook those for now!

During a storm over Lake Tanganyika. Proof that Our Savior is the greatest Creator and Artist!
  We are seeing the beauty!

There are mango, papaya, banana, coconut, date and other beautiful trees.  Therefore, these foods are very available, fresh and delicious!!

This is a Banyan Tree!   It is amazingly beautiful, too!

This is our next door neighbor's yard!!  These are coconut palms!
With Lake Tanganyika bordering Bujumbura, there is an abundance of fish.  The Sangala and El Capitan are delicious, large fish!  Our cab driver enjoys fishing on Lake Tanganyika and told us that he catches all different kinds of  smaller fish!!

This afternoon we experienced our first rain storm in Bujumbura.
It was really a downpour with heavy lightning and booming thunder.  It has stopped now and the humidity is rising!  It will be a new experience in the morning to see what it is like right after a rain shower!

In the hills above Bujumbura. It is lush with greenery!

The Burundians love their country!!   God has given it to them!!
A tribe that lives high above Bujumbura.

A vendor waits on the side of the road to sell his goods.

"It pleaseth God that He hath given all these things unto man...." DC 59:20  "And in nothing doth man offend God, or against none is His wrath kindled, save those who confess not His hand in all things..." DC 59:21

  1. With the exception of those biting insects and outages, I'd say you found yourself in paradise! Thanks for the updates and photos. You're such an amazingly blessed and wonderful couple. What an incredible mission/journey/adventure.. I can't think of a better couple to establish the Lord's gospel and kingdom among those people. Keep up all the great work in our Lord's kingdom!

    With Love,
    Jon
